CLEAR SOURCES, USEFUL IDEAS

Look closely. Make something new.

Three different kinds of content

Original starters are writing suggestions developed for CueShelf. Work examples identify their source, summarize only the plot details needed for the discussion, and separate those facts from our explanation. Independent variations are suggestions for new writing, not claims about an existing work.

How we check an example

We check the specific design against the cited text, record where it occurs and mark spoilers. The analysis is our interpretation, not a claim that the author explained their intention in those terms. The initial five examples include links to their source editions.

Use a mechanism, not a plot in disguise

A useful variation changes motivations, constraints and consequences. Simply replacing names and locations is not our aim. We use text and original diagrams instead of reproducing covers, film stills or passages for decoration.

What the generator does

The AI generator interprets your brief, selects relevant CueShelf design references and offers original directions. It explains their conflict and consequences, and separates your commitments from its assumptions. It can make mistakes and does not verify originality against all published works. Review the result against your constraints before using it. Web research is currently unavailable, so check new historical, scientific or other factual details against reliable sources before relying on them.

AI assistance and editorial responsibility

Source links support the reviewed library material. CueShelf references describe design mechanisms and their source limits; they do not verify new factual claims in an AI draft or make an invented scene a fact about a published work. Generated directions are suggestions for your own writing, with assumptions kept distinct from your brief.

The first collection was drafted with AI assistance and checked for structure, usability and source accuracy during development. Work facts were checked against the linked texts. A broader human editorial review and creator testing are still needed.

About challenges

Some examples invite you to design a solution before looking at the original. You can always skip straight to the reveal. The original is a comparison point, not the only correct answer.
