A PLACE FOR YOUR NEXT WHAT-IF

Good ideas need somewhere to land.

CueShelf is a library of creative starting points: a premise that asks an interesting question, a prompt that gets you writing, a twist that changes what came before.

We want to help you find an idea, understand what makes it work, and develop a version that belongs in your own story. You can browse freely, or sign in to save references and use one free AI generation or revision request each day.

Our pricing is based on one-time request packs. Each purchase adds to your balance. Purchased requests never expire, and your daily free request is used first. There is no subscription or automatic renewal; every pack uses the same AI model. Purchases are generally non-refundable; see our refund policy for exceptions.

Specific beats abstract

A label like “unreliable narrator” is only the beginning. We try to show the concrete choices: what a character believes, what information changes that belief, and what they must do next. Work examples illustrate useful designs; they are a companion to creating, not the whole product.

A small shelf, growing thoughtfully

We’re starting with writing and stories. This first collection contains84 source-based material studies, 18 original starters, setting references and five extended work examples. The AI workspace helps develop your own brief with relevant writing references. Web research is currently unavailable, so check new factual details against sources before relying on them.

Bookmarks are saved to your account and sync across devices. Successful AI generations and revisions are automatically saved to your personal account. You can revisit them in My shelf; applying a manual edit also saves the updated draft.
